Whoa, I love Phantom of the Opera.
I fucking love Phantom of the Opera! I saw it in New York, and it’s going to be playing at Bass Concert Hall during the week of my 19th birthday. I want in on that shit.
I would have chosen the Phantom! Not stupid Raoul.

How relieving, no?
I don’t have to make any resolutions, because all my goals are nestled into my 101.
Some of the goals that I will be working on soon include #5 - the book club. I’m starting a club on campus called the Bloomsbury Society, and we’ll be a bad ass book group. I’ve yet to work on the website or anything, so I think I’ll get dressed, buy coffee and do that today.

New goal in life.
When people describe me, I want them to use the word calamity.
Two new followers?
Dear lovelies, you have just made my day. Welcome aboard!

I just joined! It starts on the first of January. Is anyone else interested? Sign up here.
Plans for the day.
My Gran - my dad’s mother - wants to go see a quilting exhibit at the Bob Bullock museum today, which means I have to drive myself all the way into Austin to do something I desperately do no want to do. I have no desire to view quilts for hours, or drive in morning Austin traffic. All I’m excited about is getting to take some things back to my little apartment and check my mail.

Joke of the Day
somethingintellectual:
An old Italian lived alone in New Jersey. He wanted to plant his annual tomato garden, but it was very difficult work, as the ground was hard.
His only son, Vincent, who used to help him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and described his predicament:
Dear Vincent, I am feeling pretty sad, because it looks like I won’t be able to plant my tomato...

A quick list of things I hate.
I saw someone post a list of things that they hate, and it seems totally appropriate right now. So - without further delay - a list of some things I loathe.
People who choose to be ignorant, on social or political issues. Regardless, it’s infuriating.
People who share opinions on issues on which they are completely uninformed - my pet peeves include politics and women’s rights. And...

Knitting update.
I fail at knitting. Hopefully practice will ensure at least a first row of stitches.

Regarding my ridiculously good dinner.
I am becoming quite the chef! Tonight, I prepared a pasta with torn basil and thyme; a spiced cranberry and apple compote served over warm brie on sesame crackers; and a Boston lettuce mixture with a trace of oil.
Doesn’t that just sound delectable?
If you like to experiment in the kitchen like me, you can prepare the compote fairly easily. Gather any kind of apple - reds will produce a...

In regards to my book club.
For the next few days, I have really got to start piecing together all the parts of Bloomsbury. Here is my course of action.

Set up an email for Bloomsbury. Link a contact email to the website.
Set up a Twitter for the group. Enable on website.

My Post-Christmas Wishlist.
God, if this doesn’t make me a terrible consumer, I don’t know what does. However - this is all mostly just things I plan to purchase with giftcards I received.
Colcasac laptop case - A wonderful, beautiful laptop case. I’ve wanted one for a long time, and of course they don’t have the damask pattern I wanted anymore… but that’s okay.
Gaiam yoga tapes - I need...
Tonight, tonight.
This evening I made lovely macaroni and cheese, salad and a wicked cranberry/apple compote with cloves - from scratch. Cameron suggested that the compote end up in a pie, where sweet things belong; I’d rather eat it minus all the pastry bits. We watched The Fifth Element, which was an absolute waste of money. Actually, we didn’t pay for the rental - an old acquaintance from school...

What are you planning on doing once you graduate from college/univeristy?
After I graduate, my dream job would be to work for a magazine like Real Simple or Readymade. I love magazines that are design friendly and feature excellent content. Another goal is to publish my own writings and own a bookstore/coffee shop in Austin.
Ask me anything, lovely.
The peace of hello
will finally tranquilize
the ache of goodbye.

I hope Cameron and I make up today.
I am consumed with fear.
After searching for jobs for the past hour, I have found a grand total of zero locations in Austin that have part-time positions available. I am getting seriously concerned.
There is always the possibility that I will be hired at the Starbucks on campus, but I wanted to have other opportunities, as well. This is very frightening!
Please? →
I got my formspring.me thinking that everyone traded questions all the time - I’ve only had one post, and they never got back to me! Just my luck, right? Well, does anyone have anything they’d like to ask me?
If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each...

In response to disappointment of not getting an iPhone. It makes me sound like such an ass, but I really thought I might get one this year (and I’ve wanted one since I saw the keynote like, what - four years ago?). Instead of being pouty, I had to remind myself of this little...
